The Fairtrade Foundation / Make Trade Fair

Why should we pay £50 for a t-shirt which cost pennies to produce thanks to slave labour? Why should we insist on the lowest food prices at supermarkets when it means that millions of people in the world will be condemned to live a life of utter poverty and exploitation? Who are we to demand that?

I urge you to seek out and source Fairtrade goods wherever possible. Please do your bit, however little to support these fantastic ventures Fairtrade Foundation / Make Trade Fair.

Amnesty International UK

Do you think that "human rights" is just some airy fairy liberal term for being politically correct? Do you think that other countries should look to us in the UK as a sophisticated model of rights and democracy in action? If "yes", then please think again. How we think and behave with respect to human rights determines how we as a society and as a people wish to be treated. Do we wish to be treated with dignity and respect? Do we honour to protect those values with the full weight of international will and law? Or do we simply pick and choose how people should be treated as and when the political climate dictates?

Please help to raise the general awareness of human rights issues in this and EVERY country.

Greenpeace

Central Governments, big business and the mass media would have you believe that all is well with the environment, that tree hugging hippies/eco-warriors (delete as applicable) are causing undue panic by raising serious questions about the state of the environment. What do you think? Who do you trust? Do you trust scientific reports sponsored by tobacco conglomerates, multinational oil companies, fast food organisations and the like? Do you honestly think that our natural resources are endless and that we can realistically sustain this unprecedented level of consumption without conscience or consequence?

Read the campaign information on this site and then decide for yourself.

The Anti-Corruption Group and Complaints against the police.
There is nothing worse than a bent police officer. These people are entrusted to enforce the law, not to break the law. No matter what the situation and what the rationale, there can be no excuse for allowing police officers to break the very laws there are supposed to uphold. Whether it is something "minor" such as an unauthorised PNC check, or officers intimidating "their man", or something "major" such as GBH, drug dealing, perverting the course of justice, we cannot let a minority of idiots undermine the police force. Shop a bent officer NOW. One law, one justice. The Police are not above the law.
