Accessibility Statement
STANDARDS COMPLIANCE:
These pages are written to the XHTML 1.0 strict doctype and use Cascading Style Sheets for presentation. This means that this website can be viewed in all modern browsers, regardless of platform.
WEB ACCESSIBILITY INITIATIVE:
This section is due to be updated shortly. This site has been re-developed and is undergoing further thorough testing.
This site aims to conform to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. This site was tested using 2 third party validators, Bobby Watchfire Webxact and Cynthia Says. With the Watchfire Webxact product, this site scored a pass in all Priority 1, Priority 2, and Priority 3 checkpoints defined in the Guidelines. The Cynthia Says portal also passed this site with an automated verification. Widdle also aims to be Section 508 compliant.
TEXT ONLY VERSION:
The Text Only Version of this site provides users with a basic, no image, just text version of the website. It provides large font sizes with a high contrast layout allowing users with impaired vision to access the information and to aid Screen Readers.
Some older browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer 4 and Netscape 4) do not comply with these web standards. A minority of our visitors still use these browsers and, as a result, will not experience the site as we have intended. They will be able to read the pages and navigate the site, but the site will look basic in comparison.
TEXT SIZE:
If you find that the text is too small for you to read, you can change it to a size that you are more comfortable with:
in Internet Explorer (PC), use the View, Text Size menu
in Netscape 6 or 7 and Internet Explorer (Mac), use the View, Text Zoom menu
in Firefox, use the View, Zoom, In (Ctrl--)/Out (Ctrl++)
ACCESS KEYS:
www.widdle.com no longer supports Access Keys (keyboard shortcuts for links to the main pages on a site). Access Keys are being deprecated by the World Wide Web Consortium, so I have removed they completely from this site.
ADDITIONAL NAVIGATION AIDS:
Meta navigation aids used by Toolbar extension have been removed from this site.
