- Deliver content in proprietary AOL client software (e.g. AOL 8 or 9).
- Build FDO pages using VPD and publish via "Rainman".
- Was the lead IMD building new publishing tool (conCEPT04) based on TCL on AOL Server and dependent on MySQL databases.
- Lead IMD during phase 2 (conCEPT04) to deliver accessible, table-less frontend code.
- Write bulk MySQL scripts and tie them up with TCL templates.
- Manage and audit front end code provided by external consultancy companies.
Examples of AOL Time Warner work
VPD Form with Content A template interface with content added. Similar graphical interface to a DTP application, but driven by powerful FDO scripting.
VPD Builder A template interface without content. This is the shell template that is designed first before applying to the publishing system.
Revamped News Page Represents a migration towards HTML publishing system based on TCL and MySQL. A way of combining complex css and html fragments into a simple db system.
VPD with HTML A hybrid of technologies. Phase 3 of "conCEPT04" allowed for more of this. It was a way of implementing dynamic content into HTML using existing proprietary AOL platforms.
